The Acrobat Reader is a freely distributed software, which you can download here.
Purchasers of ebooks will need the Acrobat Reader in order to read their books.
Both Adobe Acrobat and TreePadPLUS are excellent software that can be used for sharing texts and images, both offering freely downloadable viewers.
Five main reasons, however, account for my favoring the use of TreePad at MieNet:

Ease & Simplicity: downloading TreePad is the simplest thing: It takes just one click! No information is requested from you; you waste no time.

eBooks-on-a-Floppy: TreePad needs no special installation, no DLLs, and it's so amazingly small that it can be carried on a floppy, together with one of more eBooks. In other words, you can take your books in your pocket and easily read them in any computer -- no need for installation; just run it!

Multi-purpose: TreePad is incredibly versatile. Thus the TreePad Viewer can be used just as well for sharing photo albums, business presentations, and so much more (all with a choice of excellent password protection, should this be wished).
